hey all! cutting right to it: this newsletter is changing :)
what you got before:
occassionally pretentious (affectionate) essays about media + messaging whenever i (
) felt a rant take holdmonthly round ups of our favorite posts + articles related to media, messaging, & navigating the internet
but i don’t want to do it like this anymore! i don’t want to fall into the screen outrage trap and i don’t want to contribute to it. i want to see what my life beyond my online opinions really looks like. the world kind of sucks right now on a macro scale, but i can try to add some good, some joy and some thoughtfulness into it, even if i can’t extend beyond the micro-scale.
both of us here at hare brained (
& i) are less interested in what’s happening within our screens and more interested in what’s happening beyond them now, and how we’re building a care infused life as a couple of queer chronically ill people getting through the world.and we want this project to reflect that :) so it’s time to pivot!
what you’ll be getting now:
a monthly post from both
and i including things like:mini essays about life with chronic illness
our recommendations: books, podcasts, movies, articles etc. we’ve enjoyed in the last month
things that have improved our lives: an accessibility tool, a new personal habit, something we’ve learned, etc. that has improved our day to day in the last month
projects we’re currently working on
things we want to try/learn more about: what’s made us curious in the last month
this isn’t an exclusive list and each newsletter may have only some or none at all! part of the fun of this project will be figuring out how we want to approach it, and having the freedom to follow our instincts. we hope you stick around to see where we go from here :)
